CHI St. Vincent Celebrates 100th TAVR Procedure

untitled-2CHI St. Vincent held a celebration with our first 100 Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) patients. TAVR is a procedure which is an option for patients deemed high risk for traditional open-chest heart surgery. Learn more about it here.

TAVR allows the aortic valve to be replaced, and like open-heart surgery, TAVR produces results in improving patients’ quality of life and lifespan. Typically, TAVR recipients suffer from aortic stenosis, one of the most common and most serious valve disease problems.

CHI St. Vincent began offering the TAVR procedure in 2014 and recently hosted a reception honoring the 100-plus patients who have received the TAVR.
