Hot Springs Honors Organ Donors at 4th Annual Rose Ceremony

Hot Springs held their 4th Annual Rose Ceremony April 18, honoring Organ and Tissue donors from the previous year. More than 50 people attended the ceremony to help honor the 18 families who were being recognized. Each family was presented with a rose and certificate to remember and memorialize the gift of life their loved ones gave.

The rose was given as a replica of the rose that was placed in the Rose Dedication Garden on the Donate Life Rose Parade float from the Rose Parade in Pasadena, Calif. on January 1. Each dedicated rose is placed in a vial that carries a unique message of love, hope and remembrance that honors the donors. Altogether the thousands of roses come together to create the Dedication Garden that is a featured design element on the Donate Life float each year.

The ceremony was led by Hot Springs President, Tony Houston, along with other coworkers and representatives from Arkansas Regional Organ Recovery Agency (ARORA). After the ceremony, the group walked to the hallway outside the ICU unit for the unveiling of this year’s Donor Wall.
