Lab Coworkers Get Recognized by Gov. Hutchinson

Lab - group with proclamationClinical Laboratory coworkers representing CHI St. Vincent recently gathered at the Capitol in Little Rock to receive a proclamation signed by Ark. Governor Asa Hutchinson declaring April 24-30, 2016 as Medical Laboratory Professionals Week. There are approximately 300,000 practitioners of clinical laboratory science in the United States.

In our CHI St. Vincent laboratories, we have pathologists, medical laboratory scientists, medical laboratory technicians, phlebotomists, and lab assistants. This team plays a vital role in the diagnosis of disease and is a key member of the health care team.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) regulates all laboratory testing performed on humans in the United States through the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA).  We meet the standards of CLIA through surveys with the Arkansas Department of Health and accreditation through the College of American Pathologists (CAP).

Please join in celebrating our clinical laboratory coworkers!
