New Outlook’s Continuing Mission of Knowledge is Power

New Outlook is a founding member of the Arkansas Ovarian Cancer Coalition (AROVCC). Their mission is to educate the public about the early warning signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer in the hope that more women will be diagnosed at early stages of the disease when it is easier to treat. AROVCC members Leah Anderson, an ovarian cancer survivor, and Alesa Garner, New Outlook Coordinator, along with two UAMS medical students had the opportunity to provide an educational power point presentation and Q&A to 85 Harding University Pharmacy and PA students.

New Outlook Cancer Program which began in 1996, is a program that was designed to educate, navigate, and support those undergoing a cancer diagnosis and it’s side effects, as well as educate the public about signs and symptoms, risk factors, and early detection of cancer.  This program has touched survivors and families in every county in Arkansas.  New Outlook collaborates with other cancer programs in our state such as American Cancer Society, Arkansas Cancer Coalition, Arkansas Komen for the Cure, Arkansas Ovarian Cancer Coalition, Leukemia Lymphoma Society and other cancer entities across our state.

This program truly embodies Living Our Mission.
